Healthcare Project Highlight: Fire Alarm Life Safety System Replacement

Location: St. Bernardine Medical Center

Description: TRL Systems was selected by St. Bernardine Medical Center, owned by Dignity Health, to replace their existing Simplex Fire Alarm System with a new state of the art EST-3 Fire Alarm System. The EST system is fully addressable and will continually perform self-tests and generate sensitivity reports directly at the panel. Installation of the new EST Fire Alarm System will be side by side with the existing Simplex system to minimize the need for Fire Watch requirements. TRL will network all buildings together to form a complete system.

Installation of visual and audible devices will be done in all required locations to meet current OSHPD requirements. Existing door holders will be reused where appropriate and tied into the new fire alarm system as necessary. TRL Systems staff is collaborating with hospital staff to ensure the project plan aligns with hospital priorities. This will help minimize the potential for staff and patient disturbance.
