TRL Gives Back: A Day of Sunshine and Service
On a sunny Southern California morning in October, 70 members of our TRL Systems Burbank office partnered with 365-Connect to bring a fresh face-lift to local elementary school Joaquin Miller Elementary School. Students, parents, and TRL staffers got to know each other and work together as we completed various campus improvement projects. With a little sweat and a lot of fun, we were able to
Build and plant four new garden-boxes with vegetables and herbs
Paint and realize a giant mural sketched and designed by the students themselves!
Paint a large shipping crate mural for the school lunch area
Build new benches and planters for the students to sit at during lunch
Landscape and plant several new spaces to add more greenery to the schools quad and outdoor lunch areas
Work side by side with TRL employees from different office locations, community volunteers and school staff, parents and kids
We believe in the power of community and art to change lives and spaces. We also believe in being a positive and impactful contributor to the communities across Southern California that TRL Systems locations are a part of.
The amazing team members at TRL are also hip to these causes and went above and beyond – working hard to create a lasting, transformative space for our local students. Jordan Huizar, Fire TI Inspection Administrator really enjoyed the opportunity to give back, saying “It was so much fun and so worthwhile. Not only were we able to do a hands-on activity like painting and planting, it was great to be out there with all the team and work together on something outside of daily TRL tasks. We bonded, it was relaxing, it was hard-work and it was so very rewarding. It was so exciting to think about the kids seeing all our of our work for the very first time on Monday morning!”
Thank you to the TRL members, friends and family who showed to work together and provide a lasting improvement for our community. We’ve got some kind, generous and hard-working humans on our team and we’re so very grateful and so very proud of each and every one.
